Brismark represents and advocates for the wholesaling sector of the horticulture industry to government and other key stakeholders, including on industry issues such as the Horticulture Code of Conduct and the future and viability of the Central Market System. Our representation of the Markets is diverse and includes:
• Horticulture Code of Conduct
• Dispute resolution and Grower complaints
• Grower representative organisations
• Fresh Markets Australia
• Industry conferences and stakeholder engagement
• Liaising with Government and Government Agencies
• Site visits – industry delegations and politicians
• Brisbane Markets Limited (site operations, regulations, Market rent reviews and WHS).
Brismark is also committed to ensuring that Primary Wholesalers and Growers continue to have good working relationships and understand each other’s concerns and issues. Through partnerships with Bowen Gumlu Growers Association and Bundaberg Fruit & Vegetable Growers, parties can work toward common goals.

Critical Link in the Supply Chain
Our Members operate out of the Brisbane Markets© at Rocklea, which is home to Queensland’s only Central Produce Market and one of the largest Central Markets in Australia. Thousands of Australian Growers send more than 700 million kilograms of fresh fruit and vegetables per year into the Brisbane Markets which forms a vital part of the supply chain, connecting these Growers with Secondary Wholesalers, provedores, food processors, retailers, independent supermarkets, and the food service industry.
Educating consumers about the role that our Members play as a crucial link in the fresh produce supply chain, and the associated benefits of shopping at your local, independent, A better choice! fruit and veg shop, is an important part of our work.
